About Us

Our Campus

The RISE Ministry campus is located on the historic former Southern Methodist College campus in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Designed to be far more than a place to stay, the campus provides a Christ-centered environment where men can live, learn, work, worship, and prepare for independent living. At the heart of the campus is Terry Hall, a 13,000-square-foot residence that houses up to 20 men in a structured recovery and discipleship program.

The campus also includes the Felkel Student Center, which serves as a classroom and meeting space for life skills, Bible studies, counseling, and community events, as well as a maintenance shop that provides opportunities for vocational training and hands-on work experience. Together, these facilities create a community where men are equipped not only to overcome poverty, homelessness, and addiction, but to grow into faithful, productive, and independent members of society.

Our Executive Director

Rev. Albert D. Griffin brings more than two decades of leadership experience across ministry, nonprofit service, and business development. His professional experience includes serving as a Case Manager with Williams & Williams Attorneys at Law, where he advocates for clients and coordinates services to support their recovery and well-being.

Rev. Griffin studied Contemporary Missional Leadership at Missio Seminary and Urban Leadership at Geneva College, equipping him with a strong theological and practical foundation for urban ministry, community transformation, and organizational leadership.

Throughout his ministry, Rev. Griffin has remained committed to building partnerships that address both the spiritual and practical needs of individuals and families. His vision for RISE Ministry is to create pathways to hope by combining faith-based discipleship, recovery programming, workforce development, and community collaboration to empower men to become healthy fathers, productive citizens, and servant leaders.

His life's mission is simple: to help people encounter the transforming power of Jesus Christ and equip them to live lives of purpose, freedom, and lasting impact.
