About Us

Capital Campaign

A capital campaign will raise funds to renovate and equip vacant buildings on the former Southern Methodist College campus to provide housing for participants, vocational training in the former shop, and classes––initially in the conference center, later in the building configured for classrooms. The location is ideal for creating public awareness of the ministry, access to vital community services, and as a staging area for RISE’s work-training program.

This campus will provide a 13,000 sq. ft. two-story dormitory that will house 20 men initially, a 1250 sq. ft. conference center/classroom, and a shop for vocational training. There’s room for transitional housing someday. The ministry will begin a development department, partnering with churches, businesses, and individual donors, and creating a direct-mail income stream for operations. Funds to supplement operations for three years will help with increased costs immediately while sustainable support builds.

A strong steering committee of Christian community leaders is launching this nondenominational ministry. There is already a governing board, a mission statement, and bylaws, federal and state EIN’s and a 501(c)(3) tax exemption status from the I.R.S. Your help is critical to make RISE Ministry a reality to meet the vital need for addiction recovery here in Orangeburg and beyond.
